Biography

Thomas began his legal career as a criminal defence lawyer at the Christchurch Public Defence Service, Christchurch New Zealand, in 2014. During this time, he handled both summary and indictable matters, as well as trial work. In 2017, Thomas transitioned to the United Kingdom, where he expanded his expertise. He served as an advisory lawyer in financial crime for Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs and gained valuable experience in commercial litigation at Simmons & Simmons.

Upon his admission to practice in Victoria in April 2021, Thomas contributed to the Royal Commission into Abuse in Care in New Zealand, providing support to counsel. Subsequently, in July of the same year, he joined the Slades & Parsons team.

Thomas holds a double degree in Bachelor of Arts and Law (BA/LLB) from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand
