About Louisa Zhang

Biography

Louisa comes to Slades & Parsons from the Criminal Division of the County Court of Victoria where she worked as Associate to his Honour Judge Kelly. During that time, Louisa assisted with the preparation and conduct of a broad range of criminal matters including trials, pleas, and appeals in both the State and Commonwealth jurisdictions.

Prior to the County Court, Louisa worked as a research assistant to several leading and pre-eminent barristers in the Peta Murphy Chambers where she gained significant exposure to matters across the Magistrates’, County, and Supreme Court jurisdictions.

Louisa has volunteered at the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service and with the Youth Referral and Independent Person program (YRIPP).

Louisa prides herself on her responsiveness and attention to detail. She takes a calm and empathetic approach to helping people facing criminal charges.

Louisa is fluent in Mandarin and speaks conversational Japanese.

Awards & Education

Louisa holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Melbourne. She completed her Practical Legal Training at the College of Law and was admitted to practice in February 2025.
Louisa is one of three Founding Members of the Criminal and Family Law Association at the University of Melbourne.
